How to find and subscribe to podcast channels using iTunes.

This video explains how to use the text widget in Wordpress. I add two text widgets:

1) A box with a simple welcome message which is located on the top of my widget sidebar

2) A box with an embedded clustrmap, which displays all visits to my blog from anywhere in the world. I create the clustrmap for free at http://www.clustrmaps.com, and it gives me the code to copy and paste into my text widget.

This video looks at uploading files to your media library before you post anything, and also how you can upload media files at the same time as you are writing a new post. You can add images, audio and video files, but also other types of media files. You have 3GB of storage in your media library (more than 4 CD-Roms worth, in other words).

Because of our quirky firewall, I recommend using the Browser uploader rather than the Flash uploader, as the page tends to freeze otherwise. From home, it should be fine to use the Flash uploader.

This video shows you how to work with posts, categories and tags, how to edit previous posts, save drafts and publish them, how to add a 'More' tag (which breaks the post so you don't see the whole of it on the front page), and a few other features.

One neat feature I discovered while making the video was that you can 'pin' a post to the front page, i.e. stop it from being push down the page by subsequent posts.

This only works if you're logged into wordpress at the time when you're commenting and asking to get updates. The same thing applies to the overview called "My Comments" in your Wordpress dashboard - it won't capture any comments you made when you were not logged into your account.
